Established in 2024 and accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center provides a comprehensive two-year fellowship where fellows will supervise, offer education, and work with faculty to learn to manage a patient care team. In addition, they will have the opportunity to collaborate with residents interested in research in pediatric hospital medicine.
The mission of the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship is to train physicians to provide high quality, evidence-based, and efficient care to the children of Oklahoma. We seek to train a diverse cohort of physicians who exhibit a lifelong commitment to grow in knowledge and contribute to the progress of the practice of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Through reflection with program leadership and mentors, fellows will have the opportunity to tailor their education within their individualized curriculum to meet their interests aligning with the varying career opportunities in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Graduates would ideally go on to practice in diverse settings including community hospitals and academic hospitals where they can contribute to clinical care, research, education, and advocacy. Our mission is to contribute to the overall mission of our institution by caring for Oklahoma's specialty needs, educating the future leaders of this emerging subspecialty, and conducting clinical research and quality improvement efforts that will serve children in the state of Oklahoma.
