All clinical responsibilities and educational activities are within Oklahoma Children's Hospital The NICU at Oklahoma Children's Hospital is the area's only level IV NICU. We offer our patients therapeutic hypothermia, inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency ventilation, NAVA and extracorporeal life support (ECLS) and other advanced treatment modalities. Our clinical services are supported by all pediatric and surgical subspecialties.
Neonatal Fellows will be available for:
Inpatient = 20 Weeks Outpatient = 2 weeks (half-day clinics) Research = 30 Weeks
Inpatient = 16 weeks (CICU rotation) Outpatient = 2 weeks (half-day clinics) Research = 34 weeks Elective = 2 weeks
Inpatient = 16 weeks Outpatient = 1 week (half-day clinics) Research = 35 weeks Elective = 2 weeks
Our acute care teams may consist residents and medical students (West) or neonatal nurse practitioners (East 1 or 2) under the supervision of an attending physician
Our dedicated NICU cardiac team manages perioperative and post-surgical critically-ill congenital heart disease patients.
Neonatal Cardiac
Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)
Our Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) team consists of Neonatologists with expertise in management of BPD.
Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
Our Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS) team consists of Neonatologist with special training and interest in ECMO support.
Tranpsort, Labor & Delivery, and Consult (TLC)
Our Transport, Labor & Delivery, and Consult (TLC) team consists of a Neonatologist in addition to Fellow, Resident, and/or Neonatal Nurse Practitioner who work together to provide consults and coordinate care for new admissions including referrals.
Hemodynamics (TnECHO)
Our Hemodynamics team consists of Neonatologists who underwent additional specialized training in Neonatal Hemodynamics
Our outpatient care teams bridge the gap in care of medically complex NICU graduates in our two outpatient clinics: short-term NICU follow-up (High-Risk Clinic) and neurodevelopmental follow-up (PremieR Clinic)
